No signup, no watermark, no server storing your data. Here is why we built it this way, and how it works under the hood.
QrMakerLab started from a simple frustration. Most free QR code generators online are not really free. They cap you at a handful of downloads, stamp a watermark on your code, or quietly convert your link into a "dynamic" redirect that stops working the moment their subscription lapses. We wanted a tool that just makes a QR code, properly, without a paywall hiding behind the word "free."
So we built QrMakerLab as a static, browser-based QR code generator. Every code you create here is rendered directly on your device using JavaScript, nothing is uploaded, logged, or routed through our servers. Your WiFi password, your phone number, your event details, they never leave your browser tab.
If a tool does not need your data, it should not ask for it. QrMakerLab needs nothing but the text you type into the field.
Every export format, every color option, and the logo upload feature are unlocked for everyone, with no signup and no hidden tier.
A static QR code should keep working for as long as the paper it is printed on survives, not just until a subscription runs out.
No dark patterns, no fake urgency, no "upgrade to unlock" banners covering the tool you came to use.
QrMakerLab supports the most common QR code types people actually need: website links, plain text, WiFi credentials, phone numbers, SMS messages, email addresses, contact cards, UPI payment details, calendar events, and cryptocurrency addresses. Pick a type, fill in the fields, and the preview updates as you type. When you are happy with the result, style it with a custom shape and color, optionally drop in a logo, and export it as a PNG, JPEG, or SVG file at a resolution suitable for print or web use.
Because the whole process runs client side, there is no server queue to wait on and no rate limit on how many codes you generate in a session.
QrMakerLab is an independently run project, built and maintained by a small team that also uses the tool for its own day to day work: printing WiFi cards for a home office, sharing a WhatsApp contact QR on a business card, or linking a location pin on an event flyer. The site is supported entirely by optional reader contributions rather than ads or paid tiers, which is why you will find a modest "buy me a coffee" link near the generator instead of a checkout page.
